Toys for Bob, the game studio behind the popular Skylanders series, announced its independencefrom Microsoft earlier this month, with its founders stating that they’re excited to work on new games independently, again.

However, Toys for Bob had only good words for the Redmond-based tech giant, and the game studio said that if given the opportunity of a partnership between the two companies, it would take the chance of working with Microsoft on new games.

Well, less than a month after they went independent, Windows Central reports the sources confirmed to the publication that Toys for Bob is indeed working with Xbox on new games after they finalized an agreement with Microsoft to fund their new title.

According to Windows Central, some Microsoft representatives revealed at a recent town hall meeting that the Redmond-based tech giant has finalized a deal with the game studio, and it should see the release of new games that would follow Toys for Bob’s past games.

It will be similar to games Toys for Bob has made in the past.

There aren’t many details about the new title, but it could reportedly end up being available on Game Pass, as Windows Central says.

Microsoft has been focusing on strengthening Xbox’s business strategy: the Redmond-based tech giant is expected to releasea new Xbox consoleby the end of this year, which will be the biggest technological leap in the console’s history.

The tech giant will also release several ABK titles to Game Pass, after acquiring the company last fall, and the first to be released will beDiablo IV.

Microsoft is also experiencingmajor success with the recently released Palworld, which took the gaming industry by storm and will continue to do so until PocketPair releases its other platforms.

So, in a way, it’s good that Toys for Bob has forged a partnership with Microsoft, but this time, keeping their independence. It could greatly benefit the small game studio.
