Microsoft Rewards is a pretty awesome program initiated by the Redmond-based tech giant that allows users to complete daily, weekly, and monthly tasks to earn Rewards points that they can use to purchase dozens of goodies from Microsoft, including Game Pass subscriptions, gift cards, and even Xbox consoles.

The program recently addeda new app for Xbox, allowing those with a Microsoft account to keep track of their monthly progress, and also make sure they don’t miss on important quests.

However, it seems that no matter how much effort users put into getting their maximum set of points each day (we havea guide for thatif you’re interested), it seems that Microsoft has somehow stitched the rules.

According tothis Reddit user, who claims they have been completing every quest available in one month, the number of maximum points made in March 2024 is far below the number of maximum points made a year ago, in March 2023.

In March 2024, they managed to earn a maximum number of 20,502 points, while a year ago, in March 2023, that number was much higher: 32,573 points.

The user is from the US, but it seems that the situation is not just bound to this region, as the other regions, such as Brazil, are affected, so it seems that earning Microsoft Rewards points in 2024 is indeed harder:

Damn dude I barely got 8k points this month, and everything is 33% more expensive for Brazil now.

I don’t have pics but that’s about the same as my exp in US. Was regularly hitting 30k last year and checked today it was a little over 20k

Same dude. 20,300 this month and 31K last March. My 15 minute cooldown went away middle of this month so that helped getting more points from search but still no where as much as it used to be, ah well

Are you a Microsoft Rewards points collector in 2024? How much have you earned this year compared to 2023?
