Starting July 2024, new Outlook for Windows and Web users will be able to prepare for meetings with Copilot. Accordingto the latest entry in the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, the AI model will help users prepare by not only summarizing documents related to the meeting but also coming up with key points, making it easier for users to follow the thread of the presentation.
To do this, the Redmond-based tech giant will add a new Prepare button to the platform, and users will only need to click it to get Copilot to help them prepare for the meeting.
The new game-changer feature will only be available for the new Outlook for Windows and Web, and according to Microsoft, it will greatly enhance productivity, reduce time spent preparing for a meeting, and make life easier for those users who are always nervous or anxious when presenting in front of others.
With so many of us in back-to-back meetings, it can be a real struggle to stay on top of pre-reads, action items, and even what each meeting is about. Copilot can identify and summarize the key points so you can show up prepared in just a few minutes. When you have an upcoming meeting, Copilot proactively shows you a “Prepare” button in your inbox which helps you quickly get context for the meeting providing a summary of the meeting and showing and summarizing relevant files leveraging the power of the Microsoft Graph. Now you have all the most important details you need and can arrive prepared and ready to engage in a productive conversation. This feature will be available in the new Outlook for Windows and web. #newoutlookforwindows
The Redmond-based tech giant recently announced that it will allow usersto create Copilot promptsgrounded in their work content in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
The work can include chats, documents, meetings, emails, and so on, and the prompts will force Copilot to come up with answers related to the work users have done. It’s set to be rolled out this month.
It makes sense that Microsoft would improve on this feature to allow Copilot to come up with specific summarization when helping users prepare for meetings.
Will you use Copilot in Outlook to prepare for meetings?
