Microsoft released the26052build to the Dev and Canary channels, and with it, the Redmond-based tech giant announced that Windows insiders will be able to switch between the two channels in a matter of seconds.

However, the option is temporary and will be temporary every time the two Channels will receive the same build. But, at one point, in the future, this window will be closed, according to Microsoft, and the easy jump won’t be possible anymore.

The Canary and Dev Channels receiving the same builds is only temporary.During the times in which the Canary and Dev Channels are on the same builds (e.g. Build 26052), the window is open for Insiders in the Canary Channel to switch to the Dev Channel. At some point in the future, the Canary Channel will jump to higher build numbers and the window will be closed.

The Dev channel is also getting dozens of previously inaccessible features that were present on the Canary channel, such asscrollable quick settings, native TAR support, and many more.

Insiders in the Dev Channel will gain a set of new features such asenergy saver, scrollable quick settings,QR codes for Wi-Fi sharing, support for creating 7-zip and TAR archives in addition to ZIP in File Explorer,Windows protected print mode, voice clarity, along withrecent Server Message Block (SMB) protocol changesandimprovements to Windows Local Administrator Password Solution (LAPS), and improvements across Settings and improvements for Bluetooth and Graphics as well.
