Windows 7 and Windows 8 have reached their end of life, and many applications don’t support them anymore.
It seems that Epic Games Launcher will also drop support for these operating systems soon.
Epic Games Launcher won’t support Windows 7, 8 and 10 (32-bit) anymore
Maintaining software and optimizing it for legacy systems can take extra effort, so it’s no wonder that many companies aren’t releasing software updates for those systems.
As you may remember,Riot dropped support for Windows 7 and 8.1 recently, and it seems that Epic Games is next.
According to arecent post on the Epic Games website, the company announced that it won’t support Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 10 (32-bit) anymore starting June 2024.
If you’re using one of these systems, you’ll still be able to use Epic Games Launcher, so you won’t have to upgrade just yet. However, Epic Games won’t offer any support or release new features.
This means that eventually, the launcher will stop working entirely. This announcement comes as no surprise, and if you’re using a legacy operating system, perhaps this is the right time for you to consider upgrading.
