Microsoft is focusing its efforts on Windows 11, and the previous version isn’t getting any new features, or so we thought.
The latest update brings some changes to the lock screen allowing you to see various information at a glance.
This preview update brings MSN information cards to the lock screen
KB5035941 update for Windows 10has been released to the Release Preview channel andaccording to MSPowerUser, it brings more information to your lock screen.
As spotted by PhantomOcean3 on Twitter, you now have additional cards on your lock screen.
Additional lock screen cards such as finance and sports are rolling out for Windows 10 in KB5035941 (19045.4235), the feature can be enabled by running:vivetool /enable /id:48801541pic.twitter.com/yNamIO4ZE5
According to Microsoft, this feature is slowly rolling out and it might not be available to everyone just yet. However, you can enable it with vivetool if you’re eager to try it.
As for available information, you’ll see current weather, traffic, market information, and sports news.
Unfortunately, it’s not possible to customize which cards you want to show, since all four of them are available as Weather and more.
It seems like your options are either all of the cards (including weather) or none of them. It would be nice if a way to choose what you want to see was present.pic.twitter.com/97Ir0vgebY
While it’s great that Windows 10 is still getting some new features, this feature in its current form doesn’t feel too useful since it doesn’t allow you to customize or hide the cards.
Hopefully, that will be changed before it’s released to the public. We also have to mention that this update will show anag screen asking you to upgrade to Windows 11, so be prepared for some shameless promotion if you choose to install it.
