The fastest Windows installation was just recorded, and it took about 104 seconds to get it done. The winner is the Windows 10 installation made with a Tiny10 version of the OS, a version that is known to be a compact Windows, only having the necessary apps, and taking less space than the regular Windows.

So, while we’re not talking about the regular Windows version, this could still be considered a Windows installation. And, as the motto welcoming users who install Windows says, it literally took just a moment.

You can watchthe whole thingbelow, from start to finish.

The installation was done by NTDev, a Windows enthusiast who experiments with a lot of Windows-related apps and software, and they reportedly used the best hardware they had to achieve the 100-second goal. We’re also talking about Tiny10, which can bedownloaded and installedby everyone.

However, don’t expect the same results if you don’t have the gear. While you won’t have to wait 20 to 30 minutes (the average Windows 10 installation takes up this long), the Tiny10 version of Windows 10 will take about 5 to 10 minutes to install, which is still a lot of time.

As you can see in the video above, the installation included a system restart, and even with that, it managed to get under 2 minutes.

What would you need to equip your system to achieve this with Tiny10? Well, a good CPU, fast RAM chips, and SSDs, as they can write up data way faster than the regular HDD. Lately, the SSDs have become the norm in the tech industry, so you don’t have to worry about that. Instead, focus on getting a good CPU, and fast RAMs.

With this being said, it would be nice if, down the road, Microsoft would strike to achieve this time with a regular Windows installation, regardless of the hardware. But we can dream, right?
