Microsoft is doing its best to keep using modern services for its infrastructure, and this means that sometimes certain services have to be retired.
The time has come for Change Data Capture components and services by Attunity, so let’s see what the future holds for these services.
Microsoft is urging users to migrate to Azure services instead
According toMicrosoft, they are planning to discontinue Change Data Capture (CDC) components by Attunity as well as Change Data Capture (CDC) service for Oracle by Attunity.
The former is an integrated ETL feature of SQL Server while the latter is a stand-alone feature in the SQL Server Integration Services feature pack. Both services are planned to shut down on December 13, 2025.
With the upcoming shutdown, Microsoft urges its customers to switch to Data Factory in Microsoft Fabric or Azure Data Factory.
Since Data Factory works with on-premises data sources with self-hosted integration runtime and is fully compatible with all versions of SQL Server, the transition should be seamless.
On the other hand, Data Factory in Microsoft Fabric lets you move and transform data to various destinations. This cloud service is optimized for handling complex hybrid ETL, ELT, and data integration projects.
This move comes as no surprise sinceAzure has been voted as the best-managed AI cloud service. Speaking of which, Microsoft also has plans to useAzure Operator to reform the telecommunication industry.
If you’re an administrator, be ready to make the switch to Azure services before December next year.
