Microsoft released the26052build to the Dev, and Canary Insider channels, effectively allowing Windows 11 usersto easily switch between these channelsin a matter of seconds.

While the build also officially introducedSudo to Windows 11, Microsoft also released some important features that will greatly improve the experience of using this operating system for hearing-impaired customers.

We’re talking about several enhancements in hearing aid support, including the ability for them to regulate ambient sound, and support Bluetooth LE Audio. Here’s what Microsoft says about it:

We’re introducing new capabilities to control audio presets, ambient sounds, and experience enhancements to theSettings > Bluetooth & devicespage. Customers can now adjust the audio presets that they or their audiologist configured in their hearing aids, right from the Settings or Quick Settings UI in Windows. These controls allow customers to quickly adjust the behavior of their hearing aids to their preference for the environment they’re in. Preset options and availability will vary based on the model and configuration of hearing aids. We’re also introducing capabilities for customers to adjust the volume of ambient sound captured by their hearing aids. These controls adjust the balance between streamed audio and sound picked up from the surrounding environment, helping customers choose what they want to focus on. Ambient sound control availability will vary based on the model of hearing aids. These features require both your Windows device and hearing aid to support Bluetooth LE Audio. Note that not all Windows 11 PCs or hearing aids, even ones that support Bluetooth LE, have support for LE Audio.

The new settings for the hearing aid support devices can be accessed on the Bluetooth & devices page within Windows 11’s Settings, as you can see in the image below.
