Microsoft finally announced a preview of the newest Office LTSC 2024, and it’s coming in April, with a general availability later this year.As we reported back in 2023, the Redmond-based tech giant has been expected to release a new version of its Office platform.

Despite the availability of Microsoft 365, many organizations and institutions need the Office 365 platform to function, as, for security and privacy reasons, they cannot be connected to the Internet, as the Microsoft 365 platform would require.

So, for these institutions, which also include numerous healthcare organizations such as hospitals, the Office 365 platform is preferable, and every other year, Microsoft releases a new version of it with new features.

According tothe official announcement, Microsoft will update the Office LTSC 2024 client will have the following new features:

However, it’s important to note that these are just some of them, and the client will have many other new features. The Office LTSC 2024 will not ship with Microsoft Publisher or Microsoft Teams, and it will not have the AI capabilities, such as Copilot, as Microsoft 365.

According to Microsoft, Office LTSC 2024 will still be a device-based “perpetual” license, supported for five yearsunder theFixed Lifecycle Policy, and the Redmond-based tech giant willalso increase the price of Office LTSC Professional Plus, Office LTSC Standard, Office LTSC Embedded, and the individual apps by up to 10% at the time of general availability.

The usual customers will also get the Office 2024 later this year, and Microsoft says it will be supported for 5 years, as a one-time purchase. There are no plans to change the price, but the Redmond-based tech giant will release more details about it in the upcoming months.
