Microsoft spent 2023 showing some much-needed attention to its beloved in-box Windows image graphics editing app as it showered the program with new features and UI changes.

Based on a Windows Insider build (11.2402.20.0) for Canary and Developer Channels Microsoft appears prepared to continue its feature releases for Paint in 2024 that include adding a brush size slider and a new tiling effect for its recently added layers panel.

Based on the accompanying GIF inPhontomOcean3‘s tweet, Windows Insiders can now test a more refined brush adjustment experience that transitions from a preselected four brush size option to a more granular slider.

Unfortunately, the Windows team is playing coy with the update asSenior Program Manager BrandonLeblancreiterated to Neowinthat the feature isn’t available for wide testing yet.
