When it comes to games, artificial intelligence is lacking to say the least, and the behavior of non-playable characters can be questionable.

Google is set to change that by developing a DeepMind-based AI that can play games with you.

Google is developing an AI that will be able to play games

AsPC Gamer writes, Google is working on a Scalable Instructable Multiworld Agent, an AI that can follow instructions and understand the game world.

Unlike the current AI that is hard-coded, this AI will act more naturally and human-like. Currently, Google has teamed up with eight different game studios to test its SIMA model.

According to the results, the model has around 600 basic skills, and it’s being tested in games such as Valheim, Goat Simulator 3, and No Man’s Sky.

Google claims that SIMA agent performs almost as well as an agent trained for a specific game. It’s important to mention that this model is in early phases, but if proven successful, it can change gaming forever.

While this sounds impressive, there are some security concerns, especially afterresearchers managed to hack Gemini AIrecently. It’s obvious thatAI is already used for cyberattacks, and hopefully one day we might see it used for gaming as well.
