Outlook will allow users to drag and drop attachments and emails from the platform to their desktops or preferred folders to download them, according to the latest entry in theMicrosoft 365 Roadmap.
The feature will be available on the new Outlook for Windows, starting March 2024, as Microsoft states:
Users can drag and drop attachments and emails from the new Outlook for Windows to their desktops or local folders to download them directly to that location.
Outlook doesn’t currently support this ability, which is by all means very intuitive to use. Microsoft allowed Windows users to drag and drop files decades ago, so why hasn’t the Redmond-based tech giant enabled it on Outlook?
This capability should have been implemented on the platform ages ago, as it would have made Outlook more intuitive to use, and would have saved time for a lot of users.
It’s good that Microsoft is finally releasing it to Outlook: maybe it will turn out to be one of the most appreciated features on the platform.
The Redmond-based tech giant is set to release multiple quality features for Outlook, including support forlegacy formats, that will enable users to open old Outlook emails. And speaking of features that should have been implemented ages ago, Outlook will soon supportNewsletters.
Yes, newsletters. In 2024. Very groundbreaking, but necessary.
