Microsoft is all set to discontinue its Rewards app on Xbox in April 2024 and will replace it with the new Rewards hub app. Microsoft Rewards is a program that allows you to earn points when you use the company’s services, such as Edge, Bing, etc.
You can redeem them for shopping. However, the program has undergone various changes in the last few months, indicating that Microsoft is working on making the program more efficient.
Microsoft has no intention of discontinuing the program but has hinted to users with several notifications that the Xbox Rewards app will no longer be available.
In December 2023, many users got notifications that indicated that Microsoft might be removing the Xbox Rewards app.
It went quiet for a while untilIdle Sloth posted on X (formerly Twitter)that users in Brazil started getting the same notifications about the discontinuance of the Xbox Rewards app, and now it comes with a date, i.e., April 15, 2024, which means soon there will be no more weekly streaks.
(Update) In Brazil, several players have received a message about the closure of the Rewards App on Xbox on April 15th, 2024It’s the same message as in December 2023 but with a new dateCredit to@Betinhogvzdiasfor the find ?https://t.co/LjTADwvVvapic.twitter.com/tYcyWZxxRL
Here is the message that appears on the notifications:
Rewards with Xbox has a new home. Check out the new Rewards hub, your go-to destination for Xbox activities and offers, available across devices. Now, you can see available activities, set up a goal, and redeem your rewards in one place. The new activities focus on what matters most: earning points while having fun playing games.
With the new Rewards hub and gaming activities coming to Xbox, we will no longer publish offers in the Microsoft Rewards app on console, Starting April 2024. This means the current Weekly Set and Weekly Streak on this app will end as of April 15, 2024.
We’re excited to bring the Rewards hub with new activities to Rewards with Xbox, and we’re looking forward to providing even more ways to earn Rewards in the future.
