Recently, many users reported that their antivirus gives them a message regarding a suspicious page with the cadmus.script.ac address.

This has many users concerned about the safety of their devices, so we decided to investigate and see how harmful this warning is.

Antivirus keeps reporting cadmus.script.ac as a threat, here’s what you should know

The issue was first reported onMicrosoft Answers forums, and according to users, the antivirus software, most notably Bitdefender, shows this warning message.

Here’s what one user had to say:

The alerts from Bitdefender have nothing to do with the Duckduckgo browser. I use Firefox, Opera, Chrome, Vivaldi, and the same alert comes up, when visiting specific sites, because it is cadmus.script.ac tracker that is the problem, not the browser.

The issue was reported in aReddit post, claiming that the message appears whenever a user tries to run Bluestacks. Here’s what one user who has this problem had to say:

Whenever I open up Bluestacks, I get a message from BitDefender saying a suspicious pages has been detected under the URL “cadmus.script.ac”. Is anyone else getting this and does anyone know what might be triggering it? It happens before the loading screen has even finished loading.

Many claim that this is just a tracker that many websites tend to use:

Unfortunately, information regarding this security alert is scarce at the moment, but we assume that this is most likely a tracker that some websites use to monitor your activity.

This means it should be no more harmful than other trackers that are used online. It’s also possible that Bitdefender is detecting it as a false positive.
