In a recent development in the ongoing rumors about Microsoft’s gaming strategy, a well-known leaker, NateTheHate, first made the claim that Starfield is all set to come to PlayStation 5.

However, inhis latest post on X (formerly known as Twitter), he backtracked on the claim and called it a lapse in judgment.

Over the course of the week, I’ve rechecked the info mentioned below & the information suggesting Starfield was PS5-bound is false.I will not delete the tweet. I’ll own the mistake.A previous report from January discussing MS bringing games multiplat remains accurate.https://t.co/1kvuzaQCVq

The claim brought excitement to a lot of game enthusiasts. However, the latter left Xbox and PlayStation fans bewildered.

Now gamers are wondering whether the space-faring RPG will remain exclusive to Xbox or if Bethesda’s highly anticipated title will be available on multiple platforms, including PlayStation.

The possibility of Starfield going multi-platform started circulating in early February when a lot of important insiders claimed that several Xbox games would soon be made available on different platforms.

NateTheHate also emphasized that even though he wasn’t sure which game titles would be included in the move, but we can still expect some Xbox console exclusives going multi-platform.

He also mentioned that we can expect announcements regarding these titles to happen in an upcoming business update event, which is focused on ongoing Xbox multi-platform discussions.

Microsoft’s apparent reluctance to promptly dismiss the early February rumors might indicate that the assertions related to the console exclusives going multi-platform have some reality. However, no one can anticipate the extent of such a move remains unclear.

Even if we accept NateTheHate’s most recent update at face value, it is still unclear whether Starfield was ever under consideration for a PS5 release after the official cancellation of its PlayStation port in 2021.

Now, the gaming community is eagerly waiting for an official announcement from Xbox head Phil Spencer, and until then, the future of Xbox’s gaming strategy remains uncertain.

What do you think which titles would be included in the move? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
