The Verge reports that Microsoft Teams might soon allow users to come up with their customized emojis in Microsoft Teams, as the Redmond-based tech giant is in the very early stages of testing customized emojis.
Reporting to the publication, several Microsoft employees said that they’re testing an animated version of the Pepe the Frog meme within internal versions of Teams.
For now, Teams supports regular emojis, and GIFs, allowing users to express themselves in a variety of ways using these methods, however, the idea of coming up with your emoji would make Teams a more welcoming and friendly place than already is.
Other platforms, such as Twitch or Discord, let users access custom emojis, with many of them being popular memes. These emojis allow for a friendlier conversation, and they open up the possibility of bonding with other users on the platform, something that Microsoft Teams could benefit from.
AsThe Verge noted, it seems that Teams users would want such a feature, because they have been requesting it for a while, and Microsoft placed it inits backlog, meaning the company will consider working on and possibly releasing it in the future.
With this being said, the feature will be previewed for users, if it ever gets released, and it might come out in the next months. Until then, however, users can nowcustomize their nicknameson Teams, and they can experience it onApple Vision Pro, starting today.
